unsavoury salisbury incident

After the unsavoury incident at Salisbury on Tuesday evening, Weymouth Football Club have been left with no alternative but to issue a life time ban to the supporter in question.

WFC would like to take this opportunity to remind all supporters that at all games, both home and away, unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. WFC want all supporters to be able to watch and support The Terras in a safe environment.

proposed community sports stadium: a vision of the future

As you may be aware, the vision of a new community sports stadium for Weymouth was recently released to the general public. You may have read about this new vision for the town in the local papers or received news of the proposal by word of mouth. If not, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the plans to you and invite you to an open evening to discuss the proposals. Ultimately, you are either supporters of the club , or neighbouring residents that this project will have the most impact on and it is important that we understand your thoughts to make the project a success for us all.

Venue: The Wessex Lounge, Weymouth Football Club, Radipole Lane, Weymouth

Dates: Wednesday 10/09/08, Friday 12/09/08 and Monday 15/09/08

Time:
4pm to 7pm

At the open evening, you will be able to view the plans for yourself and I will personally be in attendance to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. I'm sure that there will be matters that you'd like to raise with me and I would like to give you the opportunity to discuss in full every aspect of the proposal. This is a great opportunity for us to work together to build new relationships in the community as well as deliver a fantastic new stadium, breathing life back into Weymouth's sporting heritage and providing a lasting legacy for the 2012 Olympic Games, something you can personally be a part of.

• The new stadium proposals are designed to benefit the whole community, delivering sporting opportunities and substantial economic benefits to the area.

• A location that people of all ages and from all walks of life will have access to, with due consideration to traffic resolutions.

• A beacon project for Dorset in terms of sustainable and environmentally-responsible land development - particularly towards neighbouring wildlife reserves.

• A unique opportunity for commercial investment and for creating wealth and local employment opportunities.

• Far-reaching community benefits that can be achieved at no cost - either financially or ecologically - to the people of Weymouth.

• An Olympic legacy for generations to come that Dorset can be justly proud of.

All these points are just scratching the surface of this inspiring venture and we look forward to going through this exciting vision in more detail with you.

Everyone is welcome, whatever your view, as it is imperative that we all work together. However, if you are unable to attend and wish to express a view on the proposals, please do get in touch with the football club on admin@wessexpark.co.uk. The proposals can also be viewed by clicking here

I sincerely hope that you can attend on one of the above dates, and look forward to meeting with you.

Yours faithfully

Malcolm Curtis
Chairman, Weymouth Football Club
